Ram Party 60K
The Ram Party 60K is a point-to-point trail race covering 37.8 miles through Colorado's Rampart Range area, starting at Glen Aspen Boy Scout Camp and finishing at Buffalo Lodge in Colorado Springs. Runners tackle roughly 3,300 feet of climbing and over 6,000 feet of descent, with the high point reaching nearly 9,500 feet. The course begins with forest roads leading up to and around Rampart Reservoir, where you'll encounter single track with reservoir views before the long descent toward town. Much of the route follows established forest roads and trails, moving through varying terrain as elevation drops from the high country down to Colorado Springs. Weather can shift dramatically between the cooler start at elevation and the warmer finish, so layers are essential. This race suits runners comfortable with sustained descents and elevation changes who don't mind the logistics of a point-to-point format. The shuttle departure at 7:00 AM means an early morning, and the significant elevation loss will test your quads over the final miles. Runners seeking a straightforward loop or those sensitive to altitude changes might prefer other options in the Ram Party lineup.
