Course Overview
The Summit 200 has always been a dream race for us. The route is extraordinary in both its beauty and difficulty. Runners traverse one 200-mile loop around Summit County, Colorado utilizing numerous hiking trails, 4WD roads, and rec paths in the area. The majority of the route is single track trail and infrequently traveled forest roads. The beauty of this course is nothing short of breathtaking. And on the other hand, the route itself will take your breath away…as the LOWEST altitude is over 9000 feet with sections surpassing the 12,700 ft mark. Over the course of the event, runners gain (and lose) around 40,000 ft of elevation.
